Fill a bowl up with water and add different weighted objects ( that way everything doesn't gather at the bottom or all at the top) and let it freeze over night.
Then set it out and let it melt enough to have the "block" pop out.
Lastly, give the kiddos a bowl of warm water with measuring cups, spoons, medicine droppers, a turkey baster ... and let them go to town ... removing the "treasures"!
They will love it!
Neat! I like this take on it. I saw another tutorial where they put blue food coloring in it to make it look like water and they put sharks and ocean treasure, etc. Oh, to be a kid again ;)
