headband love.

ROLLED FABRIC FLOWERS DIY | WESTOVER MANOR

Hi ya, I'm Kelly. Mom to buddy roo + two, designer, creative director & blogger at Westover Manor. Where I share my style, show off my little ones and talk a bit about life and design.

I bought some fabric awhile back to make a skirt.
Like, eight months ago type of a while back.
We've since, had our twins 12 weeks early, moved, and gotten caught up in life.
Plus, my amazing seamstress neighbor who volunteered to help me
is now an hour away, in good traffic,
and we have yet to make a date to finish our project - entirely my fault.
So in the mean time... I figured I could spare a few strips of fabric for a
fun and funky headband of sorts.

Tools //
A few strips of fabric - 24"+
Hot glue + glue gun
Iron

How To //
1. Tear/Cut your strip of fabric.
*24"+ makes for the best sized flowers*

2. Fold the strip in half & iron it flat.

3. Tie a knot at one end.

4. Begin by wrap/twist/wrapping your strip around the knot.
*the looser the wrap the larger the flower.
I tucked the tail in as I went, you can trim it too.*

5. Use a bit of hot glue as you wrap/twist/wrap to hold the shape.

6. Wrap until you've used all the fabric.
*I folded the last bit of fabric at the end
onto the back to make a smooth-ish surface.
Very scientific, eh?!*

7. Add a felt backer and a pin and wear it as a broach,
make a few and use them as a headband...
The sky is the limit!
*I used the hot glue to affix these to a piece of lace*
