Hi, I am Claire I blog over at Polkadot Pretties. A place where I share my crafts, baking, inspiration and my journey through motherhood.
I am really excited to be guesting post on A Little Artsy today! I will be showing you how you can make a silhouette wall frame.
So let's get started ..
You will need to decide what image you would like to use for the silhouette, I chose tinkerbell...
Search in google for your image and print - I used card to print my image onto.
You will also need
- A frame
- Scissors
- Card
- Exacto knife
- Glue dots
- Glue
Depending on what image you choose, you may want to use embellishments too, I used glitter and a little Pom Pom for her shoes ..
Start by cutting around your image with scissors, to get rid of all the excess paper .
Now using your knife, carefully start to cut around the image ...
Tips!
- Relax,
- Take your time
- Divided your image up into sections and remove the paper as you go
- Don't pull the paper
Once you have cut around your image, you could go ahead on glue the silhouette to your card.. But I wanted my image to be 3D so I chose a coloured piece of card, rotated the image and printed.
Glue a piece of card to the back of the frame.
Add glue dots to the back of the black silohette, decide where you are going to put it and press down, add glue dots onto the back of the coloured silohette and press directly onto the top of the black one .
Depending on the size of your frame, you may want to add a quote around your sillohette. I love this tinkerbell quote this whole project was based around it .
Decide on where you want to place everything and glue down.
I added a little white Pom Pom onto to tinkerbells shoes :)
This project wouldn't be complete without a little "pixie dust"
So I used PVA glue, and dotted around the sillouhette, I then sprinkled silver and pink glitter around ..
All that's left to do now is hang :)
Here's what the frame looks like in my daughters room ..
I really hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial and that it has inspired you to have a go and make your own sillouette wall art ..
Thank you so much to the lovely Casey, for letting me guest post..
Claire x
