chalkboard.

brought to you by Danielle, contributor for A Little Artsy blog.

Chalkboard walls are everywhere these days!  I created one for use in our first year homeschool room.  Another may find it's way into our kitchen.  I love, love it!

A few things to know before you begin.  The chalkboard paint is sold in smaller sizes (by the pint), and is sorta expensive ($15-$20 per pint).  My one wall required two cans.  About $35 for the wall.  Just beware if you are decorating on a budget.  Maybe a space on a wall might work better, than the whole wall.  Also, when you do get around to painting..the color goes on navy like, but dries the nice black slate you are hoping for.  I was scared at first!  Lastly, I shaded the entire wall with white chalk, then erased.  This gave me the true chalkboard look I was wanting.  Instead of just a big black wall.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes!  Already have a wall?...leave a link so we can see!!
Good luck!
